Being single during the holiday season can be challenging.

There’s the every-present mistletoe, holiday parties and that New Years kiss at midnight during which you may be left standing alone and feeling left out.

Accept any and all invitations to parties and social events. These are excellent opportunities to meet new people and to get the word out that you are single and looking.

1. Call old dates, friends, and acquaintances. A friendly ‘happy holiday’ call may lead to reconnecting in a ‘nice’ way.

3. Try an online dating service like eHarmony or subscribe to Yahoo! Personals where you can find a date who lives close to you. Get together, have fun during the holidays, and who knows - maybe you will be enjoying that kiss at midnight on New Year’s Eve.
